I Wish We Were More Loosely Acquainted, like my Sonos Speaker System and Spotify App

We should all be less familiar with each other, like my $400 speaker and $11 music subscription.

In our inescapable, interconnected age, I wish we spent more time more apart.. like my luxury speaker and the digital music service I use with it.

I text you, you text me back. Boring! When I change a song in Spotify, who knows if the Sonos Speaker System is listening? Why can’t that be us?

Look how Spotify simultaneously plays music from both my Sonos Speaker and laptop. See how I jump up to lower the speaker volume? How force-closing the app fixes nothing? Let’s live a little.

The manner of loose association my Sonos Speaker System has with my primary music listening tool is the relationship model I strive for in our ever-connected society.

Rather than reacting instantly, we should aim to respond lackadaisically, if and when we want to.

In this way, we can learn a lot from the Sonos Speaker System and Spotify App. But only if we feel like it.
